We're Walking on Eggshells!

Parker cried for the first three hours of his life. He was very vocal. I heard him down the hall while I was in recovery. Maybe this should have been a hint.
My little boy has had a seriously intense weekend. He has been so ill and fussy. He's totally stopped sleeping through the night, and he has been waking up twice to eat and fuss, usually around midnight and three a.m. Even worse, he hardly wanted to nurse today and screamed when I tried to get him to latch on. He seemed to prefer a bottle! I was devastated. That little traitor! When he's not crying, he's usually in his swing, and we are careful to avoid eye contact or talk too loudly, for this seems to make him madder.

Parker mean mugging his momma:

I don't think its gas, and he won't turn three months til Tuesday, so I feel like it's really early for teeth to come in. And no fever. What is up? I finally got him to nurse around eight, and he dozed off. I'm hoping this bottle thing is just a phase. I'm going to hold off on them for a few days. I would hate to have to exclusively pump for the next ten months, but I would definietly do that before I would give him formula...so we will see.

We fondly remembered how good Lily was as a baby, and she was smug for a good portion of the afternoon.
Angel:
Oh jeez:

Maybe Parker's just showing us his true colors. He has already proved to be an intense baby. But this is HARDCORE.

Waiting on Fall

I've been slacking in the blog area! Mostly because I don't always know what to type, as things pretty much stay the same. Everything has been going great-we've been super busy with the usual-school, ball, children, etc. Lily is on Fall Break this week, so I'm trying to find things to do. Mostly, we are still recovering from this past crazy weekend. My aunt and uncle came to town for two days. We went to a bazillion restaraunts and to the Aquarium and the park and my mom's house. It was a blast. Everytime they leave, I always want to move to the Cape. Hopefully someday we will. I think I could even convince Shane. Sunday was Lily's sixth birthday-I can't believe it. She is such a big girl now, and we had an amazing time. It always touches my heart the friends and family who come from all over to share her special day with her. It really means the world. We went to the park and cooked hotdogs, had a pinata, opened presents, and ate cake.

I also got my hair done by my friend at Van Michael in Buckhead yesterday, and it was a nice escape. What else... my dad is in town Wednesday to celebrate Lily's birthday, and I am also meeting up with long lost overdue friends. I can't wait.

Parker is doing so great-he has been sleeping through the night for the most part. One more month and I know we're going to be starting cereal. He is so so ready. He is almost rolling over. He holds his head up for long periods of time just great. He cooes, babbles, drools, smiles, and laughs. He's a joy!

I just got a gym membership, so I really need to bust it to knock out another 10 pounds.

Now we're just waiting on fall. Please leave heat! Please!

Not ME!

Working out and dieting has been going great (well, not eating big bowls of ice cream like Shane and Lily hasn't been exactly great, but I have been surviving.) That being said, I cheat all the time. I've still been seeing results, but I'm totally ready to take it to the next level. I'm getting closer to my pre-pregnancy weight, but my body just looks different. Almost 10 weeks postpartum, and my jeans still are super snug.

So...while breastfeeding, I still have to EAT, and eat meals, not a few baby carrots and a diet coke. Starting Monday, I have a few new rules for myself. If I don't post them on here, or say them outloud, it's like I haven't made it official. So here goes ( I love a good list!):

1. Eat more salads/veggies/fruit
...Duh, I know, I know. Salads are so yummy, and I'm wondering why I don't make more for myself or order them when we go out to eat. I ordered a grilled chicken salad at Texas Roadhouse on Sunday, and it was delish! I definietly think I can enjoy that just as much as a steak and mashed potatoes. Sort of. Plus, I read somewhere that cucumbers are an awesome thing to snack on, and tomatoes and watermelon are great when you're trying to get healthy.

2. No more alcohol during the week.
I hope I don't sound like a total lush. When I was preggo with P, I never drank. At all. Before then, well, sometimes it was like, party at my house!! Haha. But I digress. Since I've been pumping, I carefully time it so that I can have a drink here and there. Thus, that here and there may be on a tiresome Monday or a boring Thursday. But, I think that's more of a special priveledge, and it needs to be reserved for weekends only. Who needs all those extra calories anyway?

3. Walk faster! I need to start walking with more speed! Heart rate up, sweat, the whole nine yards. Enough said!

4. Do my stretches and other exercizes. I need to be keeping up with my plank pose, my leg lifts, and my crunches. Those are easy to forget.

Here is the plank pose: (hold as long as you can)

5. More water-I need this for breastfeeding, but I always forget about water. I don't know why...speaking of which, I need to limit myself to ONE diet soda a day too. For myself and for baby P.

Most importantly, I think I need to say, GET HEALTHY insead of GET SKINNY. I want to be thin of course, but I REALLY want to be healthy and set good examples for my kids (probably stop buying Lily chocolate ice cream, right?)

I'll keep you posted!

Yikes:
